July 21, 2003 Board Meeting
AGENDA FOR SPECIAL MEETING OF
THE LONG BEACH SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES
6:00 P.M. – JULY 21, 2003
Meeting will be held at Long Beach School District Administration Building located at 19148 Commission Road, Long Beach, Mississippi.
CALL TO ORDER
ORDER OF BUSINESS
A. Awarding of Bids and Quotes
1. Bleachers at Long Beach High School.
2. Chain link fencing for girl’s softball field
3. Camera and security information for Middle School
(FYI – no award to be issued at this time.)
B. Approval of letter to be mailed from transportation to potential suppliers for pricing on bus parts
C. Budget Amendments
The superintendent recommends approval of budget amendments to the FY03 budget
D. Personnel
1. The superintendent recommends employment of the following personnel for the 2003-2004 school year:
·
Connie Tucker as Career Center Aide at Long Beach High School·
Jim Reaves as a special education teacher at Long Beach Middle School to replace Jennifer Larmore who did not sign her contract
E. Student Releases to Attend Schools in Other Districts
1. The superintendent recommends releasing the following students to attend schools in districts other than their home district:
a. Children of Charles R. VonderBuegge, Jr. (Teacher at Pass Christian High School) to be released to attend Pass Christian Schools
b. Children of Linda A. Conner (Employed at Gulfport School District) to be released to attend Gulfport School District
c. Children of Stephanie A. Baker (Teacher at Lyman Elementary School) to be released to attend Lyman Elementary School
F. Student Releases to Attend a School in a Different Zone than Required by Their Current Residence
The Superintendent recommends releasing the following children to attend school in a zone other than the one required by the location of their current residence
a. Children of Mr. and Mrs. Jamison to attend Harper McCaughan Elementary School
G. Curriculum Changes for the 2003 – 2004 School Year
The Superintendent recommends approval of curriculum changes at the high school for the 2003-2004 school year.
H. Request to Enter into Contract
The superintendent recommends entering into contract with Andy Thibodeaux Programs for Middle and High School leadership workshops.
I. Executive Session
The Superintendent will recommend the board go into executive session to discuss a personnel matter.
